In un campo rosso il disegno di rombo interno: un diamante che simboleggia le risorse minerarie di questo minerale. Sui bordi un orlo blu con venticinque stelle bianche che simboleggiano l'essere stato l'Arkansa il 25° stato ad associarsi all'Unione. Nel centro del rombo la stella sopra la dicitura Arkansas simboleggia l'appartenenza agli Stati Confederati d'America. Le tre stelle sotto "Arkansas" invece hanno tre significati diversi: le nazioni coloniali di Spagna e Francia e poi gli Stati Uniti, oppure l'acaquisto che nel 1803 gli USA fecero della Louisiana dalla Francia, oppure essere stato dopo Louisiana e Missouri ad essere acquistato dagli USA.
