Descrizione
La bandiera è composta da due triangoli diagonali: sinistro di colore blu che simboleggia l’oceano caricato con la croce del sud e destro di colore verde che simboleggia la vegetazione caricato con la figura di un Fetonte Beccogiallo Dorato (Phaethon lepturus fulvus) che nidifica solo a Christmas. Al centro della bandiera in un disco giallo è riprodotto il disegno dell'isola di Christmas.

Il Nome
scoperta il giorno di Natale del 1644 da William Mynors.
