Sotto tra onde bianco-blu la sagoma di una nave a vela il cui equipaggio scoprì le isole; sul cartiglio il motto "Desire the Right"

Il Nome
Le isole presero il nome di Falkland nel 1690 in onore del Viscount Lucius Cary Falkland, tesoriere della British Navy

Nel XVIII secolo cacciatori di sigilli le chiamarono "Îles Malouines" dal nome del porto da cui erano salpati in Francia a Saint-Malo
