Descrizione
La bandiera ha due nastri orizzontali uguali di rosso che simboleggia la lotta per l'indipendenza e di verde che simboleggia le ricchezze del suolo con un triangolo isoscele nero che simboleggia il popoli polinesiani e intercalato con una sottile striscia gialla che forma un nastro nero e giallo che taglia in due la bandiera formando una Y a simboleggiare la conformazione geografica delle Vanuatu.
Nel triangolo il disegno di una zanna di un Verro che circonda due foglie di namele tutte in giallo. Deriva nei colori dalla bandiera del partito indipendentista Vanuaaku Pati.
